Need a listening ear to talk through your problems?
Newbury Baptist Church has launched Listening Ear, a free service open to all in
Newbury to allow people to talk through their problems with a trained listener.
Whether you are troubled by family or work life, illness, having difficulties with relationships, are lonely or just lacking focus, Listening Ear can help.
Using reflective listening, which is a recognised method of active listening, it will help you to clarify your thoughts, work through issues and choose your own solutions.

The Listening Ear Team
Christine Frey, Listening Ear Co-ordinator said: “We set up the service because in today’s busy world it can be hard to see your way out of a difficult situation when you are in the middle of it. Sometimes all you need is to take the time to think and talk through the issues in a relaxing and caring environment and you can see the choices available and decide the best way forward.
Listening Ear is not a counselling or advisory service. It is run by ordinary people who are trained and have the time to listen, although if people need advice or more specialised help the Listeners can help organise this.”
This service is open to anyone over 18 and, if needed, you can meet for up to six, 50 minute sessions with the same trained listener in Cheap Street, Newbury. There is no charge for the service.
Listening sessions are arranged by appointment. Call or email Listening Ear Newbury to book a session or to find out more:
