Verse of the Day

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”

We have an experienced, caring and enthusiastic team of Christian leaders. Many have served for many years in the Brigade and have children of their own, who are, or have been members. Many care for children professionally as childminders or teachers. The Brigade has an extensive training scheme for Officers and all companies adhere to the Brigade “Safe from Harm” policies and all leaders are CRB checked.

Sections

Our Girls' Brigade Company is divided into four Sections:

Explorers - School years 1 - 3
Juniors - School years 4 - 6
Seniors - School years 7 - 9
Brigaders - School years 10 - 12

The girls undertake badgework through a programme which follows four themes, Spiritual, Physical, Educational and Service. The GB awards programme book is called the SPES files (which is the Latin word for “hope”) and contains hundreds of syllabus from which we determine which activities to follow. This could be Bible drama, games, dancing, swimming, ten pin bowling, crafts, cookery, first aid, safety in the home, fund raising, etc. However, we are able to adapt these or create our own if we so wish.
