Holiday at Home - All our Yesterdays
All the fun of a holiday without the hassle. If you are of ‘Senior’ age, looking for something to do on 3-5 August or know of someone who finds the summer a lonely time, then
download the leaflet for further details.
If you would like to be involved in any of the following areas: catering, administration, transport, planning and/or decorating the church – including flowers, hospitality (attending with the purpose of helping others feel at home, encouraging participation, registration etc),
loan of comfy chairs for the 3 days please see one of the planning team: Di Cullen, Sue & Mike Harris, Marguerite Rule, Laurence & Vivien Stevens, Carol Winfield, Rashell Beya.
Safe to belong
Safe to belong are guidelines that have been prepared by BUGB to enable
churches to put into place good practice when reaching out to those who are
vulnerable (this can include seniors). It is important that all those who work with or
would like to work with vulnerable adults receive training. Alan Elson from the
Baptist Union will lead a training event at church on
Saturday 24 July between 9.30
and 11.30. If you would like to attend please contact Marguerite Rule via the
Church Office
August Evening Services
During August we'll be following a mini-series in the evening services where we'll be
thinking about why it is that people stop coming to church... or never even come in the first
place. This will be a great opportunity to look deeper into and to pray about some of the
questions that were raised on the recent vision day with Stuart Murray Williams.
Each week we'll be focusing on different aspects of the series by watching a DVD clip and
incorporating opportunities for further bible study, prayer and personal reflection/ group
discussion. On the final Sunday (bank holiday weekend) we'll be spending some time in
prayer for those that the Lord is placing on our hearts and as we seek his vision for the
future of NBC.
