Here are details of some events that have taken place in the life of NBC earlier this year.
“GOLF at Christmas”
Are you a golfer? A golf day event is being organised for
Tuesday 29th December, a chance to burn off a few of those Christmas Calories!
So far it looks like bacon butties and coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf at a local course, followed by lunch and prize giving. Price, between £25 and £35 (to be confirmed).

BMS Coffee Morning
19 December from 10am–12pm @ NBC
Coffee, tea, juice & biscuits, homemade produce stall, gifts, cards and wrapping paper.
This replaces the Christmas fayre usually held in November. Please come along and help support our work.

A Christmas Carol
Please note, the performance of 'A Christmas Carol' which was due to take place on 18th December has been
cancelled.
The Silhouette Theatre Company, who were due to perform, are stranded in Surrey due to the snow. It is unsafe for them to travel.
We apologise for any disappointment.
Parliamentary Reform: What's wrong now? Do we need to change?
Come and join our Member of Parliament, the Hon Richard Benyon, for an informal evening discussion looking at reform and other contemporary and relevant issues. Parliamentary Reform; What's wrong now? Do we need to change?
The meeting is being hosted at Newbury Baptist Church Friday 16th October at 18:30, light refreshments will follow the discussions.

Ladies Walk and Pub Lunch
There will be a LADIES WALK AND PUB LUNCH on Wednesday 14th October. We will meet in the
car park of The Castle pub, Donnington for a 10.30am start and then do a walk that lasts approximately
an hour and a half. We aim to meet back at The Castle for lunch at 12.30pm. Please speak to Di
Cullen, Tracey Vallance, Angie Bryant or Caroline Richardson by 8th October latest, if you are able to
come and to confirm numbers for lunch.
Mission in the Black Country
MISSION IN THE BLACK COUNTRY,
Wednesday 14th October, 7.30p.m for 8.00p.m start. Hutchings Small Group invite you to a talk on Wednesday 14th October by Jackie Holley on her recent
outreach to inner city Birmingham with Operation Mobilisation. Alongside this presentation, there will
also be a second hand bookstall to help raise money for a second trip in December. For more details, contact Jackie Holley via the
church office.
Harvest - Give thanks to the bread of life
There will be a Harvest Supper on Saturday 26 September in the church hall.
Tickets £3.50 or £2.50 for under 12s available from Carol Winfield, who can be contacted via the Church Office. After the supper there will be opportunity to hear more about the work that Subir and Eunok are involved with.
We will be celebrating Harvest on Sunday 27 September when Subir will be preaching. Please bring mainly tins, pasta etc. that can be shared afterwards between Loose Ends and the Women’s Refuge. Some fresh produce welcome for the display.
END TO END – John O’Groats to Lands End
A team of six cyclists with a support crew of three, cycled from John O'Groats, at the top of Scotland, to Land's End, the bottom of England, over the course of 10 days in August 2009. The 874 mile ride took place over 10 days from August 22nd – August 31st 2009,
to raise money for
Cancer Research UK and the
British Heart Foundation. Covering an average of 90 miles a day the team experienced many challenges and weather conditions along the way.
